Just a quick one from me today because I know that my posts do tend to be quite dense most of the time! So to try and counteract that, I’ve decided to dedicate a (small) post to a foundation I’ve discovered that is a real game-changer!
I purchased the Dermacol Make-up Cover from Amazon, of all places!! I’m not sure where else you can buy it in the UK but I believe that with good old Prime, Amazon is your best bet. This stuff is intended for film and stage use mostly I think, but at such an affordable price (around £9!) I definitely thought it was worth a shot. It claims to contain at least 50% pigments which means this stuff is pretty much industrial strength covering makeup.
I am honestly so impressed with this foundation. Apart from the shade range/overall shade choosing process leaving a lot to be desired, the performance for such an affordable product is superb! I seriously only use about half of a pea sized amount to cover my whole face and even then that can sometimes be too much! This stuff is so full in coverage that you can completely eradicate the appearance of a tattoo with it! If that sounds like it’s going to be too much for you, a lot of people also use this to spot conceal really stubborn breakouts or just highly pigmented areas of the face.
I find that this is best applied with a damp beauty blender as it stops it from looking too heavy or cakey. I wore this every day on a trip to London back in June and whilst I’m by no means championing it as an everyday foundation, it took up less room in my makeup bag and also wore great throughout such long days of sight-seeing and shopping!
Not only is the coverage fantastic for really red skin like mine, it also has a good texture to it, making it apply really nicely during all periods of skin behaviour.
As I mentioned earlier, I definitely wouldn’t recommend this for every day use, but for special occasions and at times where you really are needing something heavy-duty, you can’t really beat Dermacol.
If you are interested in picking some up for yourself, the best advice I can give is to do your research into the shades available and search the shades you are thinking of going for on Google images for real-life swatches to get a much better idea. And if you do get it, make sure to start out with a suuuper small amount, you can always build it up don’t forget!
And just to add a little cherry on top, this foundation is also cruelty free which I think makes it an all round winner!
See you soon for some festive themed posts just in time for Christmas!
Lots of love,
