My Favourite Lush products of All Time

I’m really surprised I haven’t spoken about Lush before on my blog. I think it’s because I feel that it’s universally acknowledged as a great company with something for everyone. Whether it’s just one or two selected items, or their entire toiletry collection, I bet most people own something from Lush. This is really endearing for me, seeing as the ethics behind the company distinguish it so highly.

So today, I’m going to take you through the products from lush that are my absolute favourite and that I couldn’t be without. Some are seasonal, so there’s obviously going to be a period of time in which I am without them, but for the most part these things are available all-year round or at least for a decent chunk of time. For the items that I haven’t photographed close-ups of, refer to the feature image of this post above, which includes all the products.

Lets go through the two bath bombs/ bubble bars firstly. It is unfortunate that my two favourites are both seasonal for the Autumn/Winter period, so I make sure I stock up to ensure I don’t miss them too much when they’re gone. My ultimate favourite is the Sparkly Pumpkin bubble bar which just smells so spicy and is essentially the epitome of the festive period. I love absolutely everything about it, from it’s cute appearance to it’s woody smell, this one is not to be missed for this time of year! The other one featured in this post is the Peeping Santa bubble bar which I am actually devastated over because it may have been discontinued!! This little guy is one that I preciously saved from last year’s Boxing Day sale. He smells of strawberries and bergamot and has a delicate, fruity and creamy smell. I love this one so much and I’m pretty gutted that he doesn’t appear to be included in this year’s festive bath bomb range.

Also to be used in the bath and shower is the Golden Pear. New this year for the festive period, this soap smells just incredible and honestly good enough to eat!! It’s not only the prettiest soap I’ve ever seen (looking good enough to eat too!) it smells like the most deliciously fruity pear drops ever. If you’re not into super sickly fruity smells then you probably won’t like this, but you’ve honestly got to go and give it a whiff because it’s amazing.

Scrubee was initially a limited edition product for mother’s day, but it proved to be so popular that they brought it back for the long-haul and I’m so thankful they did! This little guy (mine is looking a little less cute than he did when I first got him) is a body butter that you use in the shower because it exfoliates as well as moisturises! With cocoa and Shea butters providing your skin with supreme nourishment and the added ground almonds to slough away dead skin, this bar leaves my skin not only feeling amazing but smelling amazing too! It’s got a very rich and heady smell of honey and chocolate, again making it good enough to eat, and a lot of people believe it to smell of white chocolate! Yum!!

Finally, for the shower, the Trichomania Shampoo block. This is supposed to be for drier hair types because it contains creamed coconut. However, I find my hair and scalp love this!! Despite having very greasy hair that needs washing at least every other day, this shampoo performs better than my beloved Bumble and Bumble Sunday shampoo and I find that my hair also dries quicker too! It of course smells coconutty, but I find the scent to be so delicate that by the time your hair is dry, you can’t even smell it (potentially both a good and bad thing). My hair turns out glossy, less frizzy and looking really healthy after using this. If you’ve never given any of Lush’s shampoo bars a try, then I highly recommend finding the one that best suits your hair type and giving it a go! I’ve had quite a few of their shampoo bars and have loved all of them.

I have a couple of face products included. First up is the Papa Noel Face Wash Jelly which is just a really lovely cleanser for my skin because it doesn’t strip it too much but still makes it feel really clean. The smell is super fresh and I actually really like the fact that it’s a jelly, it’s just a bit different. Perhaps its most unique feature is the fact that, when taken out of its container, it’s shaped like a beard. Again, I don’t think this one has returned this Christmas but I do remember they did an easter version which was shaped like a bunny, so maybe it will return someday! Until then, I have this one I’m using and a backup and both have 2018 use by dates so I know they’ll be good for a while.

Next is a fairly new discovery as they’ve not long been available. The Bunny Moon Jelly Face Mask initially terrified me because I just thought it was going to be an absolute disaster to use. Unlike the Jelly Face wash, which just lathers up upon contact with water, this one needs to be used dry. All you do is work a small amount between your hands to turn it from jelly to a kind of creamy paste. Then you just slather it all over your face and leave it for ten minutes. I have to say I love this! They have around five or six different ones in total, but Bunny Moon is for nourishment and to calm the skin- perfect for me! It has a creamy camomile smell which I love and totally relaxes me before bed.

Finally for the face, a classic Lush Lip Scrub which are so popular and with good reason! The one I’m using right now is the chocolate flavour that I picked up at easter. They last me such a long time that I never need to repurchase until a few years later, but If you’re thinking of getting one I highly recommend the Sugar Plum Fairy flavour that’s available at this time of year.

Keeping with the “scrub” theme is the Salted Coconut hand scrub which is just dreamy!! I know its only a hand scrub, but the fact that it smells of coconut and comes in such a huge pot means it’s a winner for me! This leaves your hands feeling supremely clean and super duper soft as well as smelling beautiful. I sometimes find I don’t even need to apply handcream after using this because it does its job so well.

And finally, possibly my most favourite of this entire collection is the Sleepy body cream, which is honestly a little bit life changing. This stuff smells like you’ve been transported to a lavender field in France but it absolutely isn’t overpowering. I can’t stand really strong lavender and this one is muted with the addition of Tonka bean and oatmeal to give it a sweeter, creamier scent. When I apply this just before bed time, I honestly feel so comforted and cocooned in such a relaxing smell. It one hundred percent helps me to get a really restful, good night’s sleep.

I hope you enjoyed this one and don’t forget to let me know your own Lush discoveries/favourite products of the company! They’re such a fun brand and are always so innovative.

See you soon with a post that I’m so excited to share with you all. Let’s just say it involves a very recent addition to the UK beauty community as it’s finally available on British soil. Feel free to have a guess and I’ll let you know!

Take care loves,

Steph.B xx

I agree about the Golden Pear soap. I think it looks great and has capture the scent of pear perfectly, so I think it’ll be a great product.

Rub Rub Rub is an amazing product. It gets you amazing clean, clears up spots and you can actually use it as a ‘mixer’, where you can add it to your favourite shower gel and make a new product!

Then you’ve got Sandstone. I’ve never found a soap better for getting your hands clean and completely free of dirt.

Finally, there is Avocado Co-Wash. My hair has never been so healthy and it smells amazing. But it’s not for everyone because it’s not really a shampoo, and works completely differently, but if you’re brave enough, give it a go!

    1. I used to use Rub Rub Rub when my Keratosis Pilaris got really bad, I don’t know why I never repurchased it so I think that’s next on my list!
Must try that sandstone though that sounds great!
I got a small little block of the Avocado shampoo bar to try and although it made my hair feel amazing it didn’t wash it well enough for me so I use it with my Trichomania as a conditioning treatment. I just love the smell of it, it reminds me of a twister ice cream!!

They do extra large pots of Rub Rub Rub now, and a little solid bar of it too. We have run out, so we’ll have to get some more.
Use the Sandstone fresh, otherwise it gets a bit too hard.
I must admit that I have always thought that it would be difficult to clean long hair with Avocado Co-Wash, but I don’t need to worry about that. XD
