I think I have to go ahead and say it, this is my favourite time of the year! I love Autumn and the festive period for the fashion, the food, the autumnal hues… Literally just the whole aesthetic of Autumn is utter perfection to me. I’m kicking off what I hope will be a fair few posts which are inspired by this time of year. Hopefully they will encapsulate the season and all its glory and make you feel a little cosier on the run up to Christmas.
This post is going to be very image-heavy so I’ll try my hardest to keep the literature to a minimum, otherwise there’s just going to be too much to take in! I’ll list where each of the items featured in this post were bought from, though not all will still be available now but I’ll let you know if that’s the case.
Just as a little foreword however, I don’t really know what my style is if I’m honest. I’d love to be type of person who is really edgy with their clothing, but I just don’t know if that’s me. I still don’t think I follow the crowd either, but I guess that’s something I love about fashion, everyone has their own take on it but everyone can also look completely different despite the fact they may be wearing the same top/skirt etc. The outfits that are about to follow are just the kind of thing I like to wear at this time of year and I hope they give you a little bit of inspiration when you come to transition your wardrobe for the Autumn/Winter period.
All jewellery worn in this post:
Earrings: Thomas Sabo
Rings: Left hand, Monica Vinader; right hand, Pandora.
I deliberately wore the exact same jewellery in each picture because I’m the type of person who values quality over quantity with jewellery. I like to have a few select pieces that I wear constantly with everything because it makes them so much more special. Can you tell I’m a sentimental person?
This first outfit might be a little dressy for some, but for me it’s perfect as a casual day-to-day one. I actually met friends for coffee in this last week and felt really comfortable but still put together. It features a suuuper soft cream jumper which I know is going to get so much wear this season, and a lovely mid-length orange skirt with moves really beautifully due to its fabric.
Boots: TU at Sainsbury’s (last year)
I love this next outfit for the gloomier days because of the rich green tones in the dress. It’s so easy to wear, really comfortable and easy to style with other accessories. I’ve worn this on rainy days with a black felt hat and a short trench coat and it looks really nice.
Grey Long-sleeved Top: ASOS
Dungaree Dress: TU at Sainsbury’s
Boots: ZARA (last year)
This is the one that I’m calling the dressy outfit of the six. I’m planning on wearing this one more for going out to dinner/drinks and things, though it can be styled down with some flat boots and a felt hat. I honestly think this is my favourite of all because of the beautiful velvet green jacket from ZARA. Velvet is definitely on trend this Autumn! It is so flattering because it’s in a “wrap-over” style and even has a hood! I must admit, I do feel like I’m in touch with my inner kooky side in this piece of clothing because it has a sort of Winifred Sanderson (from Hocus Pocus)/ Wednesday Addams vibe to it. Or when I do put the hood up, Jack says it’s like I’ve gone into ‘full-on Slytherin’ mode. Either way, I think this is definitely more “out there” which is why I love it so much, I feel brave and confident in it.

The star of the show with this next outfit is most definitely the puffed jacket from Uniqlo. I think that the colour is not only perfect for my personal colour scheme but the actual coat is honestly as light as a feather. You’d hardly know you’re wearing it if it wasn’t for its down-filled puffiness which makes it supremely soft and warm. There are endless amounts of pros to this jacket, including the fact that you can squash it down to fit inside a small carry pouch, meaning you’ve got a warm, water-resistant and stylish jacket to throw on whenever you need it.

This one is really because of my discovery of Mom Jeans, I know they’re nothing new to people but oh my gosh I love them!! Mine are from Topshop and they may not be the most flattering jeans ever, but I think they make basic denim outfits look a little more put together and “trendy” if you like. I love tucking jumpers into them and this sweater that I’m wearing from Hollister is the most softest thing I’ve ever owned! It has a funny waffle texture to it and that paired with its softness makes it super cosy! I am also loving nude/beige coloured trainers at the moment because they go with everything and look a little smarter than your average one.
Finally, if you’ve made it this far, I thank you from the bottom of my heart! This last one is a simple and casual one featuring a classic flannel shirt that I feel is always on trend for Autumn/Winter.
White T-shirt: ZARA
Flannel Shirt: Uniqlo
Jeans: Topshop Jamie Jeans
Boots: TU at Sainsbury’s (last year)
To round things off, I thought it’d be nice to include some hilarious blooper shots of the day because I really don’t like to take myself too seriously if I’m honest and some of these probably have to be shared!
That’s all from me today! I Hope you’ve enjoyed this mammoth post! Even though it took so long to shoot and edit the photos, I had such a fun time doing it and I really hope you’ve enjoyed viewing it. Please let me know which is your favourite outfit, I love how everyone’s taste/style is different.
I must, as always, thank my Jack for all of his help with this post. He’s not super keen on portrait photography but I think he did a damn good job despite this!
I’ll see you really soon with another post!
Lots of love,
