NYX Has Landed!

Hey there makeup junkies! This Sunday, Boots unveiled the brand new NYX counter in store and it was a fabulous day with plenty of makeup to go around! I had the best shift ever chatting to people about the new counter and having a quick peruse myself on my break. So in honour of the launch, I thought I’d write up about the products I’ve got from NYX, some are new purchases I made on the big day and some are ones I purchased online when Boots originally started selling the brand.

Here was the launch of the counter! It’s so big!

The brand are renowned for their lip products and I really didn’t realise how extensive their collection was, so I was very keen to pick up some of their lip products on Sunday. Firstly though, I purchased their Lip Primer last year because I was in the market for something that would potentially increase the longevity of my lipstick and I can safely say that this does! This creates the perfect base for lipstick and does make it last longer. At only £6 its a bit of a bargain. Then I also purchased a Lip Liner in Nude Suede Shoes which has a lovely “glide on” consistency. I got two Lip Lingerie tubes in the shades Satin Ribbon and Teddy. Satin Ribbon is just waaaay too light for me and makes me look a bit dead; I may as well put foundation on my lips than use this. So if you have darker pigmented lips I’d steer clear of this one, it could be good for extremely pale complexions though. Teddy is a much better shade but is quite dark so I need to pluck up some mental courage before I wear it. Finally I bought one of their most popular Soft Matte Lip Creams in Stockholm and I absolutely love this shade and the formula!

From left to right I’ve swatched Teddy, Stockholm, Satin Ribbon and Nude Suede Shoes

Another great find that I purchased last year on Boots.com was their Matte Finish Setting Spray which works wonders for prolonging your makeup and making it look a little more polished! Even though I have dry skin, my t-zone area tends to get a bit greasy throughout the day and causes my makeup to just disappear. This saves that from happening and is so perfect for a special occasion. I definitely want to try their dewy finish one too. I had also previously purchased the HD Concealer in the shade 01. My only gripe with this is the packaging of it, as the text on the tube keeps rubbing off onto my hands when I use it and I end up with black all over my fingers. Other than that the concealer is great, good medium to full coverage and not too drying. Now that we have a counter to browse I will definitely be picking up an alternative to the Micro Brow Pencil in Chocolate because the colour I chose online just doesn’t work for me. Other than that it’s a really decent pencil at a really decent price.

Finally, I got one of their Prismatic eyeshadows in Golden Peach which is a little chalky, I have to admit. But applies well with fingers rather than a brush. Hats off to the packaging though as the cute little bow on the front is so unique and a good selling tactic. The Baked Blushes also have this little bow on the front of their’s which totally made me want one. I got the shade Chiffon and am really happy with it.

Im so so glad we now have a mahooosive counter to browse all of their products because I didn’t quite realise how much makeup they actually produced. I’ve got my eyes set one one of their many primers next. If you have any good recommendations from the brand please don’t hesitate to pop them below in the comments!

Lots of Love,
